It may have taken me a month, but I finally finished Outlander.
The year is 1945, and Claire Randall is enjoying a second honeymoon with her husband, Frank. They were apart for six years during World War II because she was a combat nurse. But as she steps through a standing stone in the British Isles, she is transported back in time to the year 1743, in a war-torn Scotland with Highland clans. She is a Sassenach, or outlander. While there, she meets Jamie, a tall, orange, handsome warrior.
It took me a really long time to get into this book. I don’t exactly know why. But once I did, I couldn’t let go. All the details did seem a bit tedious, but they made the story that much more vivid. Go check it out.
