Insecurities as a Writer

After college, I want to be a journalist and a writer. I will be a journalist. It’s the “author” part of my career I’m not so sure about.

I’ve had an idea that I’ve been toying with for years, and it’s gone further than I ever thought any of my writing would. I just can’t help but compare it to others.

When I look at J.K. Rowling – or more recently Veronica Roth – I see a depth of detail and character that I feel I will never match. I don’t know why. I mean, I’ve got a great story going. But maybe my insecurity is what keeps me from writing on a regular basis.

I need some serious help if I ever want to get a book finished, which I do.

  1. First of all, can I say how much I love your banner? It’s gorgeous ❤
I often feel insecure while writing as well. What if my book isn't good enough? Will people read it? I'm nowhere near as good as Veronica Roth or something.
But I've realized everyone has their own style, and that's what counts. you don't have to sound exactly like your favourite writer…you can sound like yourself XD
