Tammy

Sorry it’s a little late everyone. There wasn’t a movie this week because of fall break, so I guess I was thrown off a bit.

Anyway, last weekend, I saw Tammy. It was laugh-out-loud hilarious. Tammy (Melissa McCarthy), newly sacked from her job, comes home to find her husband has been cheating on her with the neighbor. This inspires a spur of the moment, mid-life crisis road trip with her grandmother (Susan Sarandon).

I was already familiar with McCarthy’s role in The Heat (opposite Sandra Bullock), so I knew it was going to be good. However, it was a different type of humor. More simple and slapstick than in The Heat. If you get a chance to see it, take full advantage of it. You won’t regret it.
