With their country on the brink of a new existence, June, now back in the good graces of the Republic, works within the governments elite circles as a Princeps-Elect while Day has been assigned a high-level military position.  Then, just when a peace treaty is imminent, a plague outbreak causes panic in the Colonies, and war threatens the Republic’s border cities.  June is the only one who knows the secret to her country’s defense, but saving the lives of thousands will mean asking the one she loves to give up everything he has.

This book was everything the first two were, and more.  The end was so fugging sad.  I cried.  I didn’t straight up sob, but still.  I don’t usually cry over books.  But this one broke all my emotional barriers.  Even so, I still love it, and the series as a whole.
