The News Anchor Last Night

Yesterday, I was walking past my school’s bookstore – technically campus store, but whatever – when my eye fell on a stack of books.  Among them, I kid you not, was a book by Martha Raddatz, ABC News Chief Global Affairs Correspondent.  I couldn’t believe it; how did I not know she wrote a book?  I mean, I eat, sleep, and breathe everything ABC News.

Anyway, I tweeted as much, not expecting any sort of response.  Later, laying on my bed in my room, I saw it:  “Martha Raddatz liked your tweet.”  Excuse me, what?  I must be dreaming.  Someone pinch me.

But no, I wasn’t dreaming at all.  After a minor fan girl heart attack, I thanked her, because it made me feel really good; she didn’t have to do that at all.  She came back with “you are welcome !!”  Okay, seriously, she liked and replied to my tweets?  How does this happen?

If it means anything to me, it means I can do this.  I’m one step closer to my dream job.  Sure, I’m still a long way off, but I can get there.

If anyone wants to check out the book, it’s The Long Road Home:  A Story of War and Family.  I definitely know what I want for my birthday.
