NEWPORT NEWS, VA OCTOBER 11, 2015 – During fall break, I went to a B-52 concert with my mom at Christopher Newport University (CNU). It was interesting to see the people whose voices I had only heard on a CD so many years ago.
It brought back all the memories of eight-hour road trips to grandma’s house (from Cleveland to Williamsburg, Virginia). I would always ask Mom to play the CD. It was my favorite thing. My favorite song was “Love Shack”.
That night, they also played “Roam if You Want to” and “Mesopotamia” and some others. The audience was mostly middle aged/older people, but that was to be expected. I was probably the youngest person there. And it was full of dorky, die-hard fans. Those people were really entertaining.
It was something I’ll never forget.
