Rogue One

Before I went back to school at the end of Christmas break, I got to see Rogue One.  Here’s a quick summary from IMDB:

The Rebel Alliance makes a risky move to steal the plans for the Death Star, setting up the epic saga to follow.

It’s both a prequel, and it isn’t.  It comes somewhere between the original trilogy and The Force Awakens.  Don’t quote me on that; I’m not sure.  My roommate would know, though.  This being really only the second Star Wars movie I’ve seen, I’m afraid I’m still a bit naïve.  It was a bit hard to follow at first, because it pretty much began right in the middle of the action.  Talk about action packed; the action never stopped.  It was also somewhat hard to figure out who the protagonists and antagonists were, because there were so many characters with different motives.

It was also different in that it didn’t really have a romance element.  I’m not saying Star Wars is all about romance, but at best, the main characters developed an unlikely friendship.  They were able to work together and get the job done.  I can appreciate that.  Also, there was a really cool Easter egg towards the end.  I don’t know how they did it; it was magic.

To sum things up, I really liked this movie, and I highly recommend it.  If you get a chance to see it while it’s still in theaters, don’t let it pass you by.
