Broken Glass Ceilings

On Friday, my favorite person dropped a new single.  Those who have read my other posts probably know I’m talking about Rachel Platten.  I’ve had it on repeat since she dropped it.  Today, she performed it on Good Morning America (GMA):

Somehow, Rachel always manages to come through for me.  Every song is amazing.  This one particularly means a lot to me because I know a thing or two about breaking barriers, if I do say so myself.

I’ve always had to work twice as hard – if not harder – to keep up with everyone else.  People might not know what to think of me at first, but they quickly learn that I am just like them.  I don’t like special treatment; all I’ve ever wanted is to blend in.

But that’s easier said than done, especially in the field I want to break into.  It’s going to be a lot of hard work, full of ups and downs, but I can get there.  With Rachel in my ears, I can do anything.

I was hoping she’d wear a fur coat like she did in the music video, but alas, it didn’t happen.
