Tingling

Meditation is still something I need to work on.  I’ve been able to meditate every day so far this year, and I’m proud of that.  But sometimes I just can’t keep my thoughts from wandering and bouncing around in my brain.

Guided meditations do help, but I try to keep and even split between guided and how much I use the timer.   There are moments – mostly when I use the timer – when I know I’m having a good sitting.  In these moments, I can feel my body tingling.  It’s almost – but not quite – a shiver.

I’m not sure why it doesn’t happen with the guided meditations as much.  Maybe it’s because I’m listening to someone speaking intermittently, not just trying to rein in my thoughts.

The guided meditations that really help me are the ones with binaural beats.  I don’t know exactly how to describe them, but once someone hears them, it’s easy to distinguish them again.  They have a very relaxing effect on the brain and/or brainwaves.  Or maybe they produce certain brainwaves, I’m not sure.  All I know is that they help.
