The Importance of Music

If you’ve read some of my other posts, you’ll know that music is very important to me. However, my taste in music isn’t limited to the things I’ve talked about before.

Music is a huge part of my life; I’m almost always listening to it.  I don’t know what I would do without it.  I listen to a little bit of everything, but most of my music is Pop.  I also enjoy soundtracks to musicals, older music, and there are probably some other types of music that I can’t think of right now.

By “older music”, I mean the music that I grew up on.  Stuff that my parents used to play in the car when I was younger.  Stuff like the Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, and the B-52, just to name a few artists.  My favorite song growing up was “Do Wah Diddy Diddy” by Manfred Mann.  I didn’t hear it often, but when I did, it was special.  I can’t say what I liked about it at the time, but now it’s nostalgic.

As I’ve said before, music helps me with my writing.  It also helps me calm down, and it helps me put things in perspective and focus on my goals.  Music is everything to me.
