After 14 years, Disney/Pixar finally made a sequel.
After going underground because superheroes were made illegal, Helen Parr, also known as Elastigirl, along with the rest of the Incredibles, has to resurface to stop the Screen Slaver.
This movie was hilarious and action-packed from the get-go, but it definitely had a different vibe to it.
It was more political because they were trying to pass legislation to make superheroes around the world legal again, so the movie introduced lots of new characters. The counter argument to the legalization of superheroes was that society had become too dependent on superheroes to fix its problems.
And the whole movie was a metaphor for how much time we, as a real society, spend on our phones and other devices. Implying, of course, that we use them so much that we’re practically slaves to our screens. Which was a big wake up call.
This movie is definitely worth seeing.
