Like everyone else, I am excited and intrigued about the sequel to To Kill a Mockingbird . I didn’t know Harper Lee had written something else. Honestly, I thought she was dead.
Anyway, today I came across an article that BookPeople’s Blog used in its most recent post. I clicked on it because I wanted to learn more about Harper Lee’s new book. What I found was less than reassuring. 88-year-old Lee is a recluse at an assisted living home. She’s not exactly “all there”. Plus, a stroke she had a while back apparently left her deaf and blind. If this is the case, how did anyone communicate with her about the new book? And if they did so successfully, did she understand what was going on? Unfortunately, the article left me with more questions than answers.
