Today marks five years since I’ve started this blog. I almost can’t believe it. Time really does fly when you’re having fun. I’d like to thank each and every one of my followers for sticking with me through my ups and downs. I hope you’ve enjoyed my content so far and that you will continue to enjoy it. Feedback is always welcome and appreciated.
A few minutes after I published Friday’s post, I got the above reply from Crimetown’s Twitter account. I’m really happy that they’ve decided to release it everywhere. However, I’m more surprised than anything else that they noticed my blog post.
It’s one thing to have my favorite famous people and/or journalists like my tweets and occasionally respond to them. It’s nice, and it amazes me every time. I like to think it keeps me humble. But people noticing my blog on platforms other than WordPress is somewhat new territory for me. It’s happened before of course, but nowhere near the frequency with which people notice my tweets.
What is this magic? What is it about Twitter that it’s the place where I’m lucky enough to be noticed? I’m not sure I’ll ever understand it. Maybe that’s a good thing.
I’m kind of mad at myself right now.
How often should I blog? Lately, I’ve been trying to blog every day, and I’ve gained more followers as a result. I’m really proud of that.
Today marks the third year I’ve had this blog. It’s been fun for me. I never imagined I’d have as many followers as I do. I hope you’ve enjoyed it. It’s only going to get better from here.
I can’t coherently look at my stats, because, well, they’re all over the place. I post every day with a “Word of the Day,” but that consistency doesn’t seem to help. I have no idea what I’m doing (or not doing). All I know is I haven’t gotten more than 20 views in a while. If I get 5 or 10, it’s a miracle. Thoughts or ideas for improvement?
I’ve worked hard over the last two years to build this blog, but I know it can be a lot better. Here are three goals I have for the next year:
- 300 views in one day
- post more often, and have more in depth content.
I’m not exactly sure how I’ll accomplish the first two, but I know that posting more often would help. The problem is, right now I’ve got one year left in college, so I don’t have a lot of time. I know for a fact that my book reviews can be more in depth, which would probably help too. I need to cut down on the fluff. Fluff is great, but it doesn’t do much. I’m an English major; I can think critically when it comes to books. But when I read for fun, I think I turn that part of my brain off and follow my feels. Granted, my feelings are important; Every book I read influences me in some way. But I also need to start going beyond that.
Today marks 2 years since I created this blog. I hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as I have. Either way, you’re not getting rid of me. 😉
So, I was aimlessly browsing Tumblr, and I came across a post that Jason (aka Opinionated Man, http://www.aopinionatedman.com) reblogged. It was about another blogger’s annual report. And I remembered that I never got my annual blogging report for 2015 …
